Theradome

The Theradome LH80 Pro laser helmet is the result of a unique project. A biomedical engineer at NASA and an expert in medicial device manufacturing decided to develop an affordable laser helmet with the strength of clinical laser therapy. They launched their plan at crowd funding website IndieGOGO, and within 24 hours their investment goal was reached, allowing them to produce this great laser helmet.

80 powerful clinical lasers
The Theradome laser helmet is a medical device for home use, previously only available in specialised hair clinics. Based on the clinical MEP-90 laser treatment, it employs the same 80 powerful lasers. These lasers are adjusted to an optimised wavelength of 678 nm for maximum stimulation of hair growth. Theradome employs specifically developed, high efficiency lasers allowing to deliver the maximum amount of light, covering 582 cm2 total scalp area in the average human head. In total, 443 Joules of light energy are delivered per treatment. This laser helmet gives you access to unlimited clinical strength laser therapy at home.

This is possible because the helmet is rechargeable and therefore, treatment is wireless. Furthermore, the required 2 weekly treatments are not interfering at all with your daily activities and even fit in the busiest schedules.

Results

The positive effect of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on hair growth has been established in many independent studies. The exact way it works is still not fully explained. It is believed that the red light is absorbed by the skin and not by the sweat glands. For this reason, the energy balance of the skin can be stimulated specifically. The laser helmet is effective against hair loss due to the laser light that helps with the increase of ATP (an important form of fuel for cells) in the core of the cells on a molecular level. Additionally, the red laser light improves blood circulation, allowing your hair follicles to get more oxygen and nutrition. The harmful DHT molecules will less likely stick to your hair roots.

Due to the improved blood circulation and energy management, the hairs become healthier and will grow quicker and thicker. Inactive hair follicles may once again become active. In places with little hair growth, longer and more voluminous hair may start growing.

Laser therapy also helps to make a hair transplant more successful. The healing process will be quicker and better. Moreover, the quality of the hair will be better than without an after treatment.

Research
The Theradome laserhelm is cleared by the American FDA as a medical device to stimulate hair growth. This can only be achieved if proper research has shown that the device actually improves hair growth.

Directions for usage

Use the Theradome laser helmet 2 times a week for about 20 minutes per session. After 18 to 26 treatments, further hair loss will be prevented. After about 52 treatments of 20 minutes per session, the laser helmet will help grow your hair back. After you have achieved your desired result, we recommend to continue the treatment, less frequently, repeating the treatments at intervals of about five days.

A treatment is very simple. All you have to do is put the helmet on your head and press the large "on" button. The treatment of 20 minutes will start immediately. The helmet will keep you informed of the progress with its built-in speaker, giving you a quick update every 5 minutes. When the treatment is complete, the lasers will automatically turn off and you will hear that the treatment is finished. Should you wish to stop the treatment sooner, this is of course also possible.

Additionally, this wireless laser helmet will keep track of all treatments with an automatic treatment counter. Through speech technology, you will get to hear how many treatments you have already received, whether the battery needs to be recharged and you will be informed on other important updates.

With your order, you will receive:

  • Theradome LH80 Pro laser helmet
  • Adjustable support pads for optimal placement on the head
  • Storage bag
  • Charging station with universal power supply (110V-240V)
  • Information Brochure
  • Instruction manual
  • Guarantee certificate (1 year)

Frequently asked questions

How do I determine if the Theradome is right for me?
The Theradome laser helmet is designed to work with most stages of hair loss but the earlier one starts treating, the better the outcome. There are several scales to help determine the stages of hair loss. The most commonly used scale for women is the Savin Scale. It measures overall thinning as well as density. For men, the Norwood scale is most commonly used. Please see the diagrams below to determine which stages best identify your situation.

Can the Theradome treat hair loss in both men and women?
Research shows that the Theradome is effective in both men and women.

Can I start using the Theradome when I don't have hair loss yet?
It is never too early to use the Theradome laser helmet, as it helps with the various stages of hair loss and will add volume to your hair, even if you haven’t yet experienced major hair loss. The Theradome can also be used as a preventative measure or simply for maintenance of healthy hair.

The Theradome laser helmet

How many times a week should I use the Theradome?
We recommend using the Theradome twice a week for 20 minute-sessions.

Can I use the Theradome every day?
Treatments were cleared by the FDA for twice-a-week usage and we recommend following this regimen. However, there are people that use it every day with absolutely no side effects and excellent results. If you decide to go beyond our twice-a-week recommended usage, please allow 12 - 24 hours of rest in between treatments.

When is the best time to use the Theradome?
The ideal time for treatment is right after a shower after towel drying your hair. The Theradome has rubber pegs, which are designed to part hair to ensure maximum exposure of your scalp. We do not recommend conducting treatments on soaking wet hair.

Will the lasers reach my scalp if I have a somewhat full head of hair?
The Theradome has 80 lasers and rubber pegs that allow parting of thicker hair. We recommend using your Theradome after you get out of the shower and towel dry your hair.

How do I charge the Theradome?
Connect the USB cable end to the AC adapter. Attach the micro-USB cable end to the connector located under the master switch. Plug the adapter into an outlet.

While your helmet is connected to the charger, the master switch will slowly change colors. This indicates that the helmet is charging. When the color becomes solid green for at least 10 seconds, your Theradome is fully charged and ready for use.

To extend your Theradome battery life, you should only recharge after you have received a “Battery Low” message. You will still be able to complete your current treatment session after hearing this warning. Please let the helmet fully charge before your next treatment. Rest assured that Theradome’s circuitry prevents any risks of overcharging.

How long does it take to charge the Theradome?
The device will be fully charged in 3 hours or less.

How much does the Theradome weigh?
It weighs slightly less than 16 ounces and is very comfortable to wear.

I’m worried that the Theradome won’t fit my head. Do I need to worry about the helmet size?
The Theradome has been designed to fit 98% of the population. The 2% with size issues are generally people with smaller heads. For these customers, there are foam pads provided to ensure a correct fit. So regardless of your head size, you can order your Theradome with confidence that it will fit comfortably.

Are the lasers dangerous?
The lasers are of a red color, part of the visible spectrum of light, and not intense enough to cause damage to the eyes. Because the lasers are very bright, a three-step safety system has been implemented that prevents laser light from accidentally shining into your eyes. If you intentionally defeat this system, the lasers will still cause no harm, but we do not recommend staring into your Theradome on purpose.

Medical questions

Are there any potential side effects from using the Theradome?
There are no side effects from using the Theradome. This has been verified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Our product has zero side effects, unlike almost every other type of hair loss treatment on the market today.

Can I use the Theradome along with other hair loss treatments such as Rogaine, Propecia (Finasteride) or Dutasteride?
Adding Theradome treatments to your current hair loss medication(s) will increase the rate and quality of your hair recovery. Since these medications are known to cause shedding, you should NOT discontinue their use once starting LLLT treatments. Please consult your physician to initiate a plan that will gradually decrease the dose of these medications over the course of 3 to 6 months.

Can I use the Theradome if I have had a hair transplant?
Top hair restoration experts, such as Bosley Medical and Hair Club for Men, provide the Theradome to their patients. It works very well with pre-op patients and with those who are post-transplant. Transplants cause trauma to nearby hairs. Using the Theradome will alleviate these effects by providing extra energy and minimizing shock loss. In essence, Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) assists the growth of newly planted follicles by: 1) accelerating the healing process; 2) reducing redness/inflammation; 3) decreasing discomfort; and 4) encouraging transplanted hairs to grow faster.

Will using the Theradome help with dermatitis and itching?
Some patients have reported positive results with the above condition/symptoms using the Theradome as it is designed to reduce inflammation of the scalp, which is the root cause of dermatitis and itching. Please note that the FDA has not cleared the Theradome for treatment of either dermatitis or itching.

Is it ever too early to use the Theradome?
It is never too early to use the Theradome laser helmet, as it helps with the various stages of hair loss and will add volume to your hair, even if you haven’t yet experienced major hair loss. The Theradome can also be used as a preventative measure or simply for maintenance of healthy hair.

What is the difference between lasers and LEDs for hair growth?
Laser light travels in alignment, forming a coherent beam that maintains its full intensity and power. LED light, like a light bulb, spreads out in all directions, rapidly losing penetrative power as it travels. Many hair growth devices are made with LEDs, which are much less expensive to make, and do not have adequate power to penetrate the base of hair follicles and reverse hair loss.

I am 22 and my mother and/or father is bald. Can I prevent hair loss?
It is much easier to prevent hair loss than it is to re-activate any dormant hair follicles. By using the Theradome, you will reverse any potential hair miniaturization. As a result, hair follicles will continue to receive the energy they need through laser light and your hair will keep on growing.

Are there any medical conditions that may interfere with the effectiveness of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Before considering any hair growth treatment, properly diagnosing the cause of your hair loss with a physician is essential. If you have any underlying medical conditions such as thyroid disease, anemia, are taking any medications, or if you have any possible scalp conditions such as psoriasis, please visit your doctor to address these medical concerns. Any underlying medical conditions can be the cause for seeing slower than average results with your Theradome.

Care and day-to-day usage

What type of shampoo should I use while using the Theradome?
Since hair loss is often associated with inflammation and fungus, we recommend shampooing with medicated and anti-fungal shampoos to clean the hair, reduce inflammation of the scalp and kill any fungus loads. For instance Neofollics Shampoo or Regenepure DR.

Should I shampoo every day?
We recommend shampooing every 2 or 3 days.

How do I clean the Theradome?
The Theradome can be cleaned by simply wiping the inside and outside with a cloth to remove any oils or residue. You do not need a special cleaner.

Can I share the Theradome with others in my household?
Yes, the Theradome can be used by multiple family members, but the helmet’s counter will only track the total number of treatments – it cannot differentiate between users.

Women's health

After my pregnancy, my hair became brittle and started to thin out. Can the Theradome help?
Yes, provided you are done with breastfeeding, you can start using the Theradome to regrow and thicken your hair.

I am breastfeeding. Can I use the Theradome?
We do not recommend using the Theradome helmet while breastfeeding.

I am pregnant. Can I use the Theradome?
We do not recommend using the Theradome helmet while being pregnant, unless specifically approved by your physician.

My clients tell me that the Theradome Laser Helmet completely stops the hair loss in just 2 weeks. This is an excellent investment combining with other products, like Revita or Regenepure shampoo and spectral products.

After using DHT inhibitors with serious side effects (strong libido loss) I bought the Theradome. After four months of testing the helmet I have achieved good results. The powerful lasers give a burning feeling on the skin but that's not unpleasant.

1) With daily use, I had more hair loss than before.
2) To use it every two days seemed better so that the scalp and follicles can recover. No result.
3) Using the helmet every two days just before washing with Revita shampoo has a very good result.
After one month new hairs started to grow and hair loss disappeared. So first, stress the scalp and immediately thereafter feed it.
