What is the Theradome?
The Theradome LH80 PRO is a wireless laser helmet for the home. The laser helmet uses laser light (or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)) to stimulate hair growth in both hair loss in women and hair loss in women and to prevent hair loss. The Theradome laser helmet is FDA approved (American Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) and has no side effects. The helmet is very easy to use and the treatment is easy to maintain. The effectiveness of the Theradome has been established and proven in clinical studies. The helmet is wireless, lightweight and always fits every head. Treatment with the Theradome laser helmet takes about 20 minutes at a time, twice a week.
What does the Theradome do?
Clinical studies have shown that the lasers in the Theradome laser helmet stimulate the growth of new and healthy hair. The lasers also slow hair loss and can even stop hair loss, even with hereditary hair loss. In addition, the use of the helmet doubles the hair follicle size of existing hair, so the hair also thickens. Laser therapy with the Theradome also helps to improve hair growth after a hair transplant or chemotherapy treatment. The recovery is better and faster. In addition, the quality of the hair is better than without an after-treatment.
Research
The Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet has been approved by the American Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (FDA) as a medical device to stimulate hair growth. This recognition can only be obtained if independent research has shown that the device actually improves hair growth.
Who is the Theradome suitable for?
Treatment of hair loss with Low Level Laser Therapy through the Theradome is suitable for both men and women with hair problems and for all types of hair loss, at all stages. The sooner you start the treatments, the better the result. The Theradome helmet has been developed for use at home and is very easy to use. For example, the helmet itself counts the number of treatments. The Theradome also indicates when a treatment starts and when it ends. The helmet is easy to put on and off with just one push of a button. Also nice is that the helmet is wireless. This ensures optimal freedom of movement during the treatment, so that the treatment can be sustained well. The battery is rechargeable by means of a supplied USB cable.
What do the experts say?
The good results that the Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet can achieve have not gone unnoticed. Theradome has already received several international prizes for its advanced product:
- 2017 Aesthetic Industry Award - Best hair growth device
- 2018 Hollywood Beauty Award - Innovation prize
- 2018 MyFaceMyBody Award - Hair growth treatment of the year
- 2018 Pure Beauty Award Nominee - Best new hair product for men
The British newspaper the Daily Mail scored the Theradome 8 out of 10. The newspaper says the following about the LH80 Pro:
“However, it is much more powerful than many other devices that emit red laser light. This is because this product uses medical grade lasers that emit a therapeutic wavelength of red light.
Like a helmet, it can easily treat the entire scalp for people with hair loss. The main disadvantage is the cost, but compared to going to hair clinics for a similar treatment - costs € 45 to € 115 each time - if it works for you, it would probably save you money in the long run."
Results
The positive effect of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on hair growth has been established in many independent studies. The exact way it works is still not fully explained. It is believed that the red light is absorbed by the skin and not by the sweat glands. For this reason, the energy balance of the skin can be stimulated specifically. The laser helmet is effective against hair loss due to the laser light that helps with the increase of ATP (an important form of fuel for cells) in the core of the cells on a molecular level. Additionally, the red laser light improves blood circulation, allowing your hair follicles to get more oxygen and nutrition. The harmful DHT molecules will less likely stick to your hair roots.
Due to the improved blood circulation and energy management, the hairs become healthier and will grow quicker and thicker. Inactive hair follicles may once again become active. In places with little hair growth, longer and more voluminous hair may start growing.
Laser therapy also helps to make a hair transplant more successful. The healing process will be quicker and better. Moreover, the quality of the hair will be better than without an after treatment.
Research
The Theradome laserhelm is cleared by the American FDA as a medical device to stimulate hair growth. This can only be achieved if proper research has shown that the device actually improves hair growth.

After about 52 treatments of 20 minutes per session, the laser helmet will help grow your hair back. A treatment is very simple. All you have to do is put the helmet on your head and press the large "on" button. The treatment of 20 minutes will start immediately. The helmet will keep you informed of the progress with its built-in speaker, giving you a quick update every 5 minutes. Frequently Asked Questions
We've listed the things we're asked the most about here. Do you have another question? Feel free to contact us.
The Theradome laser helmet is designed to work with most stages of hair loss but the earlier one starts treating, the better the outcome. There are several scales to help determine the stages of hair loss. The most commonly used scale for women is the Savin Scale. It measures overall thinning as well as density. For men, the Norwood scale is most commonly used. Please see the diagrams below to determine which stages best identify your situation.

Yes. Research has shown that Theradome laser therapy also ensures more, thicker and healthier hair with more volume for men.
The Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet also has a preventive effect. Even if you do not yet notice any signs of hair loss, and you want to keep it that way, you can use the Theradome laser therapy. By wearing the Theradome laser helmet twice a week for 20 minutes, you are already working on maintaining the volume of your hair.
With other laser therapy products, such as laser combs and laser caps, a common complaint is that the product may feel hot on the head when used. The Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet does not have this problem. Thanks to advanced ventilation shafts, the heat from the lasers is guided away preventing a build up of heat on the head. With the Theradome you will never suffer from uncomfortable warmth on your head.
Yes, with the Hair Growth Specialist you can assume that you will receive a new product. We are an official dealer of Theradome and only deliver new products to our customers. So you can be sure that you will not get a used laser helmet.
Preventing hair loss is much easier than reactivating sleeping hair follicles. By using the Theradome you prevent the hair follicles from becoming smaller. This keeps the hair follicles with nutrients from the blood supply and the hair will continue to grow.
The Theradome has been tested and approved by the FDA for two treatments per week of twenty minutes per treatment. The laser helmet must therefore be used at least twice a week for 20 minutes.
Treatments were cleared by the FDA for twice-a-week usage and we recommend following this regimen. However, there are people that use it every day with absolutely no side effects and excellent results. If you decide to go beyond our twice-a-week recommended usage, please allow 12 - 24 hours of rest in between treatments.
The ideal time for treatment is right after a shower after drying your hair. The Theradome has rubber pegs, which are designed to part hair to ensure maximum exposure of your scalp. We do not recommend conducting treatments on soaking wet hair.
It is best to use the Theradome immediately after showering on clean, towel-dried hair.
The laser helmet must be used permanently, then the effect of the treatments will also be maintained. After having used the helmet at least twice a week for about 6 months, the frequency of use could be reduced to once every 5 days (but this is not necessary).
The Theradome has 80 lasers and rubber pegs that allow parting of thicker hair. We recommend using your Theradome after you get out of the shower and dry your hair.
Connect the USB cable end to the AC adapter. Attach the micro-USB cable end to the connector located under the master switch. Plug the adapter into an outlet.
While your helmet is connected to the charger, the master switch will slowly change colors. This indicates that the helmet is charging. When the color becomes solid green for at least 10 seconds, your Theradome is fully charged and ready for use.
To extend your Theradome battery life, you should only recharge after you have received a “Battery Low” message. You will still be able to complete your current treatment session after hearing this warning.
Please let the helmet fully charge before your next treatment. Rest assured that Theradome’s circuitry prevents any risks of overcharging.
The device will be fully charged in 3 hours or less.
It weighs slightly less than 16 ounces and is very comfortable to wear.
If you want to adjust the volume of the instructions, press the large button twice in succession. You hear a voice say "Theradome". When you click twice again, the volume changes. Keep doing this until the desired volume is reached.
The Theradome has been designed to fit 98% of the population. The 2% with size issues are generally people with smaller heads. For these customers, there are foam pads provided to ensure a correct fit. So regardless of your head size, you can order your Theradome with confidence that it will fit comfortably.
The lasers are of a red color, part of the visible spectrum of light, and not intense enough to cause damage to the eyes. Because the lasers are very bright, a three-step safety system has been implemented that prevents laser light from accidentally shining into your eyes. If you intentionally defeat this system, the lasers will still cause no harm, but we do not recommend staring into your Theradome on purpose.
There are no side effects from using the Theradome. This has been verified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Our product has zero side effects, unlike almost every other type of hair loss treatment on the market today.
Adding Theradome treatments to your current hair loss medication(s) will increase the rate and quality of your hair recovery. Since these medications are known to cause shedding, you should NOT discontinue their use once starting LLLT treatments. Please consult your physician to initiate a plan that will gradually decrease the dose of these medications over the course of 3 to 6 months.
Top hair restoration experts, such as Bosley Medical and Hair Club for Men, provide the Theradome to their patients. It works very well with pre-op patients and with those who are post-transplant. Transplants cause trauma to nearby hairs. Using the Theradome will alleviate these effects by providing extra energy and minimizing shock loss. In essence, Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) assists the growth of newly planted follicles by: 1) accelerating the healing process; 2) reducing redness/inflammation; 3) decreasing discomfort; and 4) encouraging transplanted hairs to grow faster.
Some patients have reported positive results with the above condition/symptoms using the Theradome as it is designed to reduce inflammation of the scalp, which is the root cause of dermatitis and itching. Please note that the FDA has not cleared the Theradome for treatment of either dermatitis or itching.
It is never too early to use the Theradome laser helmet, as it helps with the various stages of hair loss and will add volume to your hair, even if you haven’t yet experienced major hair loss. The Theradome can also be used as a preventative measure or simply for maintenance of healthy hair.
Laser light travels in alignment, forming a coherent beam that maintains its full intensity and power. LED light, like a light bulb, spreads out in all directions, rapidly losing penetrative power as it travels. Many hair growth devices are made with LEDs, which are much less expensive to make, and do not have adequate power to penetrate the base of hair follicles and reverse hair loss.
It is much easier to prevent hair loss than it is to re-activate any dormant hair follicles. By using the Theradome, you will reverse any potential hair miniaturization. As a result, hair follicles will continue to receive the energy they need through laser light and your hair will keep on growing.
Before considering any hair growth treatment, properly diagnosing the cause of your hair loss with a physician is essential. If you have any underlying medical conditions such as thyroid disease, anemia, are taking any medications, or if you have any possible scalp conditions such as psoriasis, please visit your doctor to address these medical concerns. Any underlying medical conditions can be the cause for seeing slower than average results with your Theradome.
Since hair loss is often associated with inflammation and fungus, we recommend shampooing with medicated and anti-fungal shampoos to clean the hair, reduce inflammation of the scalp and kill any fungus loads. For instance Neofollics Shampoo or Regenepure DR.
We recommend shampooing every 2 or 3 days.
The Theradome can be cleaned by simply wiping the inside and outside with a cloth to remove any oils or residue. You do not need a special cleaner.
Yes, the Theradome can be used by multiple family members, but the helmet’s counter will only track the total number of treatments – it cannot differentiate between users.
Yes, provided you are done with breastfeeding, you can start using the Theradome to regrow and thicken your hair.
We do not recommend using the Theradome helmet while breastfeeding.
We do not recommend using the Theradome helmet while being pregnant, unless specifically approved by your physician.
