Description Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet

What is the Theradome?
The Theradome LH80 PRO is a wireless laser helmet for the home. The laser helmet uses laser light (or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)) to stimulate hair growth in both hair loss in women and hair loss in women and to prevent hair loss. The Theradome laser helmet is FDA approved (American Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) and has no side effects. The helmet is very easy to use and the treatment is easy to maintain. The effectiveness of the Theradome has been established and proven in clinical studies. The helmet is wireless, lightweight and always fits every head. Treatment with the Theradome laser helmet takes about 20 minutes at a time, twice a week.

What does the Theradome do?
Clinical studies have shown that the lasers in the Theradome laser helmet stimulate the growth of new and healthy hair. The lasers also slow hair loss and can even stop hair loss, even with hereditary hair loss. In addition, the use of the helmet doubles the hair follicle size of existing hair, so the hair also thickens. Laser therapy with the Theradome also helps to improve hair growth after a hair transplant or chemotherapy treatment. The recovery is better and faster. In addition, the quality of the hair is better than without an after-treatment.

The Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet has been approved by the American Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (FDA) as a medical device to stimulate hair growth. This recognition can only be obtained if independent research has shown that the device actually improves hair growth.

Who is the Theradome suitable for?
Treatment of hair loss with Low Level Laser Therapy through the Theradome is suitable for both men and women with hair problems and for all types of hair loss, at all stages. The sooner you start the treatments, the better the result. The Theradome helmet has been developed for use at home and is very easy to use. For example, the helmet itself counts the number of treatments. The Theradome also indicates when a treatment starts and when it ends. The helmet is easy to put on and off with just one push of a button. Also nice is that the helmet is wireless. This ensures optimal freedom of movement during the treatment, so that the treatment can be sustained well. The battery is rechargeable by means of a supplied USB cable.

What do the experts say?
The good results that the Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet can achieve have not gone unnoticed. Theradome has already received several international prizes for its advanced product:

  • 2017 Aesthetic Industry Award - Best hair growth device
  • 2018 Hollywood Beauty Award - Innovation prize
  • 2018 MyFaceMyBody Award - Hair growth treatment of the year
  • 2018 Pure Beauty Award Nominee - Best new hair product for men

The British newspaper the Daily Mail scored the Theradome 8 out of 10. The newspaper says the following about the LH80 Pro:

“However, it is much more powerful than many other devices that emit red laser light. This is because this product uses medical grade lasers that emit a therapeutic wavelength of red light.

Like a helmet, it can easily treat the entire scalp for people with hair loss. The main disadvantage is the cost, but compared to going to hair clinics for a similar treatment - costs € 45 to € 115 each time - if it works for you, it would probably save you money in the long run."

The positive effect of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on hair growth has been established in many independent studies. The exact way it works is still not fully explained. It is believed that the red light is absorbed by the skin and not by the sweat glands. For this reason, the energy balance of the skin can be stimulated specifically. The laser helmet is effective against hair loss due to the laser light that helps with the increase of ATP (an important form of fuel for cells) in the core of the cells on a molecular level. Additionally, the red laser light improves blood circulation, allowing your hair follicles to get more oxygen and nutrition. The harmful DHT molecules will less likely stick to your hair roots.

Due to the improved blood circulation and energy management, the hairs become healthier and will grow quicker and thicker. Inactive hair follicles may once again become active. In places with little hair growth, longer and more voluminous hair may start growing.

Laser therapy also helps to make a hair transplant more successful. The healing process will be quicker and better. Moreover, the quality of the hair will be better than without an after treatment.

The Theradome laserhelm is cleared by the American FDA as a medical device to stimulate hair growth. This can only be achieved if proper research has shown that the device actually improves hair growth.

When can you expect which results?

After 18 treatments (twenty minutes per treatment)

  • Your hair will become more beautiful and more manageable.
  • Less shed hairs in the shower and on pillows.
  • Your hair shafts will become thicker.
  • Your hair will have more shine and volume.
  • Your hair will become less greasy.

After 26 treatments

  • Your hair will be thicker and longer.
  • Your scalp will be healthier.
  • Less itch and inflammation of the scalp.
  • Curly hair retains the curl better.

After 52 treatments

  • The hair on top of your head and crown will start growing back.

After 100 treatments

  • With continued use, eventually you will have fuller and thicker hair.

Results of Theradome LH80 Pro on male hair growthResults of Theradome LH80 Pro on male hair growthResults of Theradome LH80 Pro on female hair growthResults of Theradome LH80 Pro on female hair growth* The results of this product may differ per person. Specific results are not guaranteed and results may vary. Hair growth products generally give a visible result faster if the hair loss is not yet advanced.

Use the Theradome laser helmet 2 times a week for about 20 minutes per session. After 18 to 26 treatments, further hair loss will be prevented. After about 52 treatments of 20 minutes per session, the laser helmet will help grow your hair back. After you have achieved your desired result, we recommend to continue the treatment, less frequently, repeating the treatments at intervals of about five days.

A treatment is very simple. All you have to do is put the helmet on your head and press the large "on" button. The treatment of 20 minutes will start immediately. The helmet will keep you informed of the progress with its built-in speaker, giving you a quick update every 5 minutes. When the treatment is complete, the lasers will automatically turn off and you will hear that the treatment is finished. Should you wish to stop the treatment sooner, this is of course also possible.

Additionally, this wireless laser helmet will keep track of all treatments with an automatic treatment counter. Through speech technology, you will get to hear how many treatments you have already received, whether the battery needs to be recharged and you will be informed on other important updates.

How do I determine if the Theradome is right for me?
The Theradome laser helmet is designed to work with most stages of hair loss but the earlier one starts treating, the better the outcome. There are several scales to help determine the stages of hair loss. The most commonly used scale for women is the Savin Scale. It measures overall thinning as well as density. For men, the Norwood scale is most commonly used. Please see the diagrams below to determine which stages best identify your situation.

Can the Theradome treat hair loss in both men and women?
Yes. Research has shown that Theradome laser therapy also ensures more, thicker and healthier hair with more volume for men.

I have not yet suffered from hair loss, but would like to keep my full bunch. Do I benefit from using the Theradome?
The Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet also has a preventive effect. Even if you do not yet notice any signs of hair loss, and you want to keep it that way, you can use the Theradome laser therapy. By wearing the Theradome laser helmet twice a week for 20 minutes, you are already working on maintaining the volume of your hair.

Does the laser helmet get hot?
With other laser therapy products, such as laser combs and laser caps, a common complaint is that the product may feel hot on the head when used. The Theradome LH80 PRO laser helmet does not have this problem. Thanks to advanced ventilation shafts, the heat from the lasers is guided away preventing a build up of heat on the head. With the Theradome you will never suffer from uncomfortable warmth on your head.

If I buy a Theradome from the Hair Growth Specialist, will I get a new helmet?
Yes, with the Hair Growth Specialist you can assume that you will receive a new product. We are an official dealer of Theradome and only deliver new products to our customers. So you can be sure that you will not get a used laser helmet.

I am 22 and my mother and / or father are bald, can I prevent hair loss?
Preventing hair loss is much easier than reactivating sleeping hair follicles. By using the Theradome you prevent the hair follicles from becoming smaller. This keeps the hair follicles with nutrients from the blood supply and the hair will continue to grow.

The Theradome laser helmet

How many times a week should I use the Theradome? The Theradome has been tested and approved by the FDA for two treatments per week of twenty minutes per treatment. The laser helmet must therefore be used at least twice a week for 20 minutes.

Can I use the Theradome every day?
Treatments were cleared by the FDA for twice-a-week usage and we recommend following this regimen. However, there are people that use it every day with absolutely no side effects and excellent results. If you decide to go beyond our twice-a-week recommended usage, please allow 12 - 24 hours of rest in between treatments.

When is the best time to use the Theradome?
The ideal time for treatment is right after a shower after  drying your hair. The Theradome has rubber pegs, which are designed to part hair to ensure maximum exposure of your scalp. We do not recommend conducting treatments on soaking wet hair.

Can I use the Theradome in combination with hair fibers and / or other hair products?
It is best to use the Theradome immediately after showering on clean, towel-dried hair.

How long do I have to use the Theradome?
The laser helmet must be used permanently, then the effect of the treatments will also be maintained. After having used the helmet at least twice a week for about 6 months, the frequency of use could be reduced to once every 5 days (but this is not necessary).

Will the lasers reach my scalp if I have a somewhat full head of hair?
The Theradome has 80 lasers and rubber pegs that allow parting of thicker hair. We recommend using your Theradome after you get out of the shower and dry your hair.

How do I charge the Theradome?
Connect the USB cable end to the AC adapter. Attach the micro-USB cable end to the connector located under the master switch. Plug the adapter into an outlet.

While your helmet is connected to the charger, the master switch will slowly change colors. This indicates that the helmet is charging. When the color becomes solid green for at least 10 seconds, your Theradome is fully charged and ready for use.

To extend your Theradome battery life, you should only recharge after you have received a “Battery Low” message. You will still be able to complete your current treatment session after hearing this warning.

Please let the helmet fully charge before your next treatment. Rest assured that Theradome’s circuitry prevents any risks of overcharging.

How long does it take to charge the Theradome?
The device will be fully charged in 3 hours or less.

How much does the Theradome weigh?
It weighs slightly less than 16 ounces and is very comfortable to wear.

How can I adjust the volume of the Theradome?
If you want to adjust the volume of the instructions, press the large button twice in succession. You hear a voice say "Theradome". When you click twice again, the volume changes. Keep doing this until the desired volume is reached.

View the instruction video if desired:

I’m worried that the Theradome won’t fit my head. Do I need to worry about the helmet size?
The Theradome has been designed to fit 98% of the population. The 2% with size issues are generally people with smaller heads. For these customers, there are foam pads provided to ensure a correct fit. So regardless of your head size, you can order your Theradome with confidence that it will fit comfortably.

Are the lasers dangerous?
The lasers are of a red color, part of the visible spectrum of light, and not intense enough to cause damage to the eyes. Because the lasers are very bright, a three-step safety system has been implemented that prevents laser light from accidentally shining into your eyes. If you intentionally defeat this system, the lasers will still cause no harm, but we do not recommend staring into your Theradome on purpose.

Medical questions

Are there any potential side effects from using the Theradome?
There are no side effects from using the Theradome. This has been verified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Our product has zero side effects, unlike almost every other type of hair loss treatment on the market today.

Can I use the Theradome along with other hair loss treatments such as Rogaine, 𝒫ropcia (Fina) or Duta?
Adding Theradome treatments to your current hair loss medication(s) will increase the rate and quality of your hair recovery. Since these medications are known to cause shedding, you should NOT discontinue their use once starting LLLT treatments. Please consult your physician to initiate a plan that will gradually decrease the dose of these medications over the course of 3 to 6 months.

Can I use the Theradome if I have had a hair transplant?
Top hair restoration experts, such as Bosley Medical and Hair Club for Men, provide the Theradome to their patients. It works very well with pre-op patients and with those who are post-transplant. Transplants cause trauma to nearby hairs. Using the Theradome will alleviate these effects by providing extra energy and minimizing shock loss. In essence, Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) assists the growth of newly planted follicles by: 1) accelerating the healing process; 2) reducing redness/inflammation; 3) decreasing discomfort; and 4) encouraging transplanted hairs to grow faster.

Will using the Theradome help with dermatitis and itching?
Some patients have reported positive results with the above condition/symptoms using the Theradome as it is designed to reduce inflammation of the scalp, which is the root cause of dermatitis and itching. Please note that the FDA has not cleared the Theradome for treatment of either dermatitis or itching.

Is it ever too early to use the Theradome?
It is never too early to use the Theradome laser helmet, as it helps with the various stages of hair loss and will add volume to your hair, even if you haven’t yet experienced major hair loss. The Theradome can also be used as a preventative measure or simply for maintenance of healthy hair.

What is the difference between lasers and LEDs for hair growth?
Laser light travels in alignment, forming a coherent beam that maintains its full intensity and power. LED light, like a light bulb, spreads out in all directions, rapidly losing penetrative power as it travels. Many hair growth devices are made with LEDs, which are much less expensive to make, and do not have adequate power to penetrate the base of hair follicles and reverse hair loss.

I am 22 and my mother and/or father is bald. Can I prevent hair loss?
It is much easier to prevent hair loss than it is to re-activate any dormant hair follicles. By using the Theradome, you will reverse any potential hair miniaturization. As a result, hair follicles will continue to receive the energy they need through laser light and your hair will keep on growing.

Are there any medical conditions that may interfere with the effectiveness of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Before considering any hair growth treatment, properly diagnosing the cause of your hair loss with a physician is essential. If you have any underlying medical conditions such as thyroid disease, anemia, are taking any medications, or if you have any possible scalp conditions such as psoriasis, please visit your doctor to address these medical concerns. Any underlying medical conditions can be the cause for seeing slower than average results with your Theradome.

Care and day-to-day usage

What type of shampoo should I use while using the Theradome?
Since hair loss is often associated with inflammation and fungus, we recommend shampooing with medicated and anti-fungal shampoos to clean the hair, reduce inflammation of the scalp and kill any fungus loads. For instance Neofollics Shampoo or Regenepure DR.

Should I shampoo every day?
We recommend shampooing every 2 or 3 days.

How do I clean the Theradome?
The Theradome can be cleaned by simply wiping the inside and outside with a cloth to remove any oils or residue. You do not need a special cleaner.

Can I share the Theradome with others in my household?
Yes, the Theradome can be used by multiple family members, but the helmet’s counter will only track the total number of treatments – it cannot differentiate between users.

Women's health

After my pregnancy, my hair became brittle and started to thin out. Can the Theradome help?
Yes, provided you are done with breastfeeding, you can start using the Theradome to regrow and thicken your hair.

I am breastfeeding. Can I use the Theradome?
We do not recommend using the Theradome helmet while breastfeeding.

I am pregnant. Can I use the Theradome?
We do not recommend using the Theradome helmet while being pregnant, unless specifically approved by your physician.

Doesn't work as well as reviews suggest
From Ferdolino on 29 August 2022
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | 6 months to a year

No noticeable difference observed after one year of use. 3x a week. In start with supplements later without Product broke after half a year. Good aftersales and solved without problems.

From Chatty on 18 March 2022
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | 2 to 3 months

I have a lot of hair loss (thinning and porous hair) due to medication and menopause. Especially at the front it had become very thin. Have used the helmet about 20 times now and I can see and feel the difference. My hairdresser was amazed that the hair no longer feels 'grainy' and brittle, but is regaining shine. Small hairs also grow back on the front. I have also stopped certain medications. I also use hair lotion with this. I will continue to use the helmet so far definitely satisfied

try it
From anoniempje on 17 January 2022
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | 6 months to a year

Like many, I have used Minox and other medications sporadically over the years, with limited results. The hair loss continued and I eventually even had a hair transplant, but this also did not provide a lasting result. The hair loss has continued, albeit more slowly, over the years and has recently returned to an unacceptable stage. To get discouraged. Based on reviews and research into Laser Light treatment, I found the Theradome Pro LH80 to be the best option. I am so glad I bought the helmet. Now after 6 months I really don't have any hair loss anymore and I don't have to worry about it getting thinner anymore. I also saw new baby hairs! All I can say is try it.

Does what it promises
From Maike on 7 February 2021
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | 1 to 2 months

I have been using the Theradome LH80 PRO for over 2 months now and am starting to see results. At the beginning I was skeptical and I thought that it was not going to do anything but slowly I see all small hairs coming back which I am very happy with, my hair loss has also decreased, this also took about 2 months but I had quite a lot of stress so it may stop without stress sooner. I use the helmet 3x a week, usually after a shower but sometimes also on dry hair.

Visible result
From Cas on 20 October 2020
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | 2 to 3 months

Just a bit of context: man, aged 26 and 5 years of suffer from progressive hereditary hair loss. The short answer: it works. The long answer: over the years I have tried a lot in the fight against hair loss. Started with Regenpure shampoo and eventually added Foligain pills to the regimen. With no visible result, 1.5 years ago I started with Nanoxidil (1x in the evening) and microneedling. Although this regimen has stabilized hair loss, new hair growth still failed to materialize. Personally, I was never a big fan of Nanoxidil, which is why I started considering the Theradome. After much deliberation, I finally took the gamble... After all, LLLT seems to be a good combination with microneedling, which I wanted to test. To further stimulate this, I also started using the Neofolics lotion instead of Nanoxidil for extra stem cell promotion + cost considerations. For the last three months I now use Regenepure shampoo 3x per week, 2x per day foligain pills, 1x per evening Neofolics lotion, 2x per week Theradome and 1mm microneedling every 10 days (LLLT one day after microneedling) Three months have passed now and the result is impressive. For the last 1.5 years I have been tracking my progress closely; My hair has never been this thick since the introduction of the Theradome. I also notice new hair growth for the first time. It looks like the Theradome was the deciding factor in my regimen. In my case, the combination of different means is therefore crucial! (In the long run I want to stop using the lotion). All in all, I hope that this review can help men in my age group in their fight against hereditary hair loss.

From Cathy on 3 August 2020
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | More than a year

During the transition, my thin, fine hair became even thinner. I didn't feel like using medication with possible side effects. The decision to purchase a Therdadome was made quickly. After about 5 months of use, I noticed an improvement in the quality of my hair.

Good product
From Chris on 19 May 2020
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | More than a year

Hi, I am Chris. I already had a transplantation, but the hair loss was still going on. I am using rogain, too. It was getting better. A few years after that, i was using the theradome helmet, too. And for me it was the perfect combination. Much less hair loss with this combination. So I am very satisfied with this situation :) Best regards Chris

It works, but be consistent!
From Valence on 21 April 2020
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | More than a year

My name is Valence, I am 21 years old and I have been using the Theradome Laser helmet since October 2017. I am very happy with this solution to my problem back then: I was very stressed a few years ago and my hair started to fall out. My luscious bunch of curls became thin and lifeless. I used all kinds of expensive shampoos and pills, but nothing helped. After half a year of using the helmet, I got thicker hair again, and it is now better than ever! My mom gets thinner hair because of her menopause, and she has now started using my helmet enthusiastically. In any case, she notices that her hairstyle is better again, and she hopes to regain some volume soon. You have to keep it up for at least half a year before you get good results!

Stop hair loss, for sure.
From EDDY on 19 November 2019
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | More than a year

We purchased the Theradome end of 2017 and are very satisfied. My wife and I are over 70 years old and we started having hair loss 3 years ago. We use the Theradome twice a week and there is clearly a standstill in the hair loss. In addition, our hair does not become thin, but remains thick.

It really works...!
From Marco on 13 November 2019
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | More than a year

Use the Theradome helmet for 4 years now and it has stabilized my hair loss. Furthermore, it does something to your hairy scalp and it also seems to give your hair more volume and shine. Furthermore, super user-friendly product.

Review of a user of the Theradome helmet
From Anouk on 11 September 2019
Frequency of use: 4-6 times a week | More than a year

More than 20 years ago I suffered from a serious failure. I was in my 20s at the time. Wearing a wig has never been necessary, but the condition of my hair has caused a lot of stress for many years. I have been using the Theradome helmet for one and a half years now. After two or three months of use (3 times a week) I discovered many more new hairs. After about half a year I went to a use of 4/5 times a week. I notice that the hair is getting thicker on top of the head. I have also noticed that the hair is less likely to get greasy and less â € ˜slingâ € ™. I am very happy with this and I continue to use the helmet. I also only use â € ˜softâ € ™ shampoos. I usually use the helmet on dry hair. During the treatment you can simply do something else such as breakfast, reading or brushing your teeth. You can continue after 20 minutes. The helmet is not very light but it does not really bother you. You will not experience any unpleasant warmth from the helmet. The disadvantage is that it takes a while before you see results. Although I experienced the hair fat loss less quickly after a few treatments.

The helmet works.
From Milly on 19 July 2019
Frequency of use: 1-3 times a week | More than a year

The helmet works. It takes time to see the first results and you have to use the helmet consistently, but then it does what it says. This is especially useful if you suffer from hair loss on top of your head. Due to a skin condition in my neck I also lose hair there, but that area is of course not reached by the helmet. I have been using the helmet for 2 years now. First 4 or 5 x a week, the second year 3 or 2 x. The first year I used a stimulating spray from the Mediceuticals brand. Not later. I notice that the density of the hairs on my head has improved. I also had two coves on top in front, one has really grown up and the other has become less visible. Pros: - does what he promises - no chemical medication required Negatives: - is pretty heavy on your head - you must use it consistently - not cheap - difficult to get your hair modeled nicely after you have the helmet on towel-dried hair for 20 minutes. Conclusion: if your hair loss really bothers you and you are willing to put on a heavy helmet several times a week for a longer period of time after washing your hair, then this is your product.

From Filipe Sousa on 15 December 2015

My clients tell me that the Theradome Laser Helmet completely stops the hair loss in just 2 weeks. This is an excellent investment combining with other products, like Revita or Regenepure shampoo and spectral products.

From stef on 26 November 2015

After using DHT inhibitors with serious side effects (strong libido loss) I bought the Theradome. After four months of testing the helmet I have achieved good results. The powerful lasers give a burning feeling on the skin but that's not unpleasant. 1) With daily use, I had more hair loss than before. 2) To use it every two days seemed better so that the scalp and follicles can recover. No result. 3) Using the helmet every two days just before washing with Revita shampoo has a very good result. After one month new hairs started to grow and hair loss disappeared.
