How long should the treatment last?
It is possible to combat the effects of hereditary hair loss. The cause, the creation of the hormone DHT, can not be stopped permanently. The effect of the treatment continues to build up as long as the treatment is continued. The hair loss will come back when the treatment is stopped. Only in the case of telogen effluvium it is possible to stop the cause, although the improved and healthier hair growth can still be a reason to keep using certain products.
Hair growth is a slow process. A realistic term to be able to evaluate the effect is 3 to 6 months. The full effect usually can not be seen until after 12 months. Hair grows at a rate of about 1,25 cm per month. In 'problem areas' this is much slower and hair roots can remain in resting phase for a long time. Especially in long hair it is difficult to see the new small hairs. We always recommend to have other people take a look at it every now and then. These are often better at noticing differences. Because the results are not visible until after a few months, it is important to continue the treatment for at least several months. Unfortunately, people often discontinue a good treatment after only 1 or 2 months, because the desired transformation has not been noticed. Realistic expectations and perseverance are therefore essential to achieve results.
